For the uninitiated, Pokemon Go is a massively popular mobile game released last month, that needs you to go outside and capture, battle and train Pokemon (virtual creatures aka Pocket Monsters) using your cell camera and GPS.

But hey, if you didn't know that despite the media tsunami, you have probably been hiding in a cave and have tuned out of the professional world too.

Your incuriosity might kill you when massive fast-moving technological changes hit your career or workplace. Instead of losing out, stay on top of your environment to score a career win.

Here are some lessons from Pokemon Go to get ahead in your career.

Pokemon are only found outdoors. So you need to get up and step outside.

You also need to walk 2 km/5km/10 km to hatch eggs and advance in the game. Similarly, your new job will never work out if you only sit at home and restrict your efforts to the internet or social media.

Get out there in the real world where the jobs are, put in those miles daily to go and meet people at their workplaces.
